Sad to hear of the passing of Soft Cell's Dave Ball. They were a guilty pop pleasure back in the 80s - quite a few bangers in their locker. This little tune, I've been known to have a bash at, with a skinful on-board (needed if hitting those notes!)...

One of the people killed by Soldier F was a man who stepped out to help another of his victims as he lay dying in the street. He waved a white handkerchief as he did so. Soldier F shot him in the head. His name was Barney McGuigan and today his family had to listen to a judge acquit his killer.

Sixteen years ago, today, this kid made his debut for Everton.
Fair to say, he has represented not only his club, but himself, with the greatest of class and dignity ever since.
He remains one of the finest ever transfers Everton FC ever concluded.
Fair to say we all love and respect Seamus!

UEFA have intervened after this evening's Tel Aviv derby between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Tel Aviv was cancelled due to public disorder and violent rioting.
The rescheduled game will now take place at Aston Villa's Villa Park stadium at a date to be decided.
