I should share my story of getting my NES… it was from the Easter Bunny in 1987. It was huge a surprise! My parents said I would talk about playing the neighbors and thought it would be good for hand eye coordination… I think the upcoming arrival of my sibling might have been a factor too…
… Another fun memory of the NES was playing Gyromite at my next door neighbor’s and trying to get ROB to help us out. I’m confident now that we didn’t do something right with set up, but no matter how long or often we tried, we never got the guy to help… neat idea though…

Another break from the #NESTop25 to share some top NES memories.

Somehow, I remember the first video game I ever rented was Double Dribble… and though I would later appreciate its greatness later, I remember being so excited to play and having fun learning… I miss game rentals….

Did you ever play… Legacy? The RPG like Mega Man game?
The box art has come a long way from the original ;)

I’m sure I played this, but don’t remember much of it. With that said, following the formula of its predecessors couldn’t hurt, obviously. I need more time for games… like, A LOT more time.
Clearing out the bottom 15 of my #NESTop25 at number 11 is #Tetris. Sure, this game really picked up steam with the Game Boy, but gotta show love to the original. I play Tetris 99 most nights for a quick moment of fun and challenge, showing the lasting impact of this one! #NES #VideoGames #Nintendo
So I remember the box art… but not a lot else. The map levels have a resemblance (actually vice versa) while the flying is like futuristic 1941… looks legit honestly.
I rented this game more than once. It was hard to get! I did see there is a remaster on the Wii U I always wanted to try, but my backlog is already too long… plus there’s a sequel I never played…
I mentioned Disney had a slew of great #NES TV syndication games earlier in my #NESTop25, and at number 12, #Ducktales is the cream of the crop. This Capcom game was initially a surprise as how great it was, but when the game had some Mega Man influence, it makes sense. #VideoGames #Nintendo
Better get on that… sweet idea…
… this is AI generated, right? Like, no way this is real ;)

With that said, with such high praise, I now want to play this apparent hidden gem.
It was a little tough to add this one as I had the SNES version and played the hell out of it. Heck, I still play it sometimes. That unnamed Broncos QB is pretty good…
I know Chris had the original on his #NESTop25, but I have #TecmoSuperBowl at number 13 on mine. Twice as many play options than the original, real teams/players, multiple season play, and still with the original #NES #Tecmo charm? Count me in! #Nintendo #VideoGames
Heard of it, never played it… but now I do…
Number 14 on my #NESTop25 is a version of the #SuperMarioBros. series I would have loved to see more of on the #NES, and that’s #SuperMarioBros2. I LOVED the idea of playing as Toad (and peach) and that the objective wasn’t a damsel in distress. #Nintendo got there eventually… #Mario #VideoGames
So 6, 5, and 1 have been on your list so far… meaning 2, 3, and 4 remain for the next 14 spots… 4 will be sooner than the others ;)
Now back to the show.

Number 15 of my #NESTop25 is an arcade port that blew my prepubescent mind. #TeenageMutantNinjaTurtlesTheArcadeGame in my house?! Sure, it wasn’t as good as the arcade, but it was awesome to play at home without pumping quarters in the machine. #Nintendo #VideoGames
I should go back and try some more of these again… but my temper might be a factor to NOT do that…
… another game that we haven’t discussed yet that is #NintendoHard was #TopGun. The game was actually lots of fun… except for landing on the aircraft carrier after each level. The directions were always wrong. Hard to advance when a life is lost at the of every level by default basically…
Speaking of #NintendoHard, taking the day off from the #NESTop25 to talk about the hardest of #NES games. The first one that comes to mind is the first/original #TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles. The game itself was difficult (especially for the 8 year olds we were), especially the underwater level…

Number 16 of my #NESTop25 might have the best music of any NES game (including the pause music). #Battletoads was TMNT on drugs… and I liked it. Yeah, this is a #NintendoHard game no doubt, but the animation, story, and gameplay was fun! Need to play more in the series now. #Nintendo #VideoGames
ANYTHING would have been better than the original NES TMNT… so hard…

And the gold mine… then tilt… now, GameStop?

Too bad 4 players wasn’t really an option here, but still so much fun!… more soon ;)
