Actually holding a physical copy of Craft of Historical Research, what a joy! Very much the book I wish I’d had as a student, so happy to see it out in the world. 🗃️ You can find it as an affordable paperback or eBook.

He does flake convincingly. Maybe they should sauté him with some mushrooms and red wine #horrorwatch

“Remember the time that one nurse came ashore? Caused about as much disturbance as this alien fella. Until we blew her up with thermite bombs.” #horrorwatch
I’m impressed that the very new US Air Force in ~1950 is already up to five or six digits when they number their little edicts and memoranda #horrorwatch
They never leave the base without warm clothes, a Swiss Army knife, and explosives #horrorwatch
OMG this is a very early PowerPoint presentation #horrorwatch

It’s interesting that they didn’t choose to tighten it up a bit with a role for the nurse and even his roommate’s daughter in the final act—it’s a little odd to develop them so well and then not use them #horrorwatch
My second viewing as well. It was much better than I remembered, another trait it has in common with Coen Brothers comedies, always a good rewatch. #horrorwatch

“Do I look like an icky-ologist to you?” #horrorwatch
“Like a pigeon having a heart attack.” 🤣 #horrorwatch
And the deliberate choice to make the lil scarab visibly animatronic was sly #horrorwatch
Loving this vibe, it’s like early Coen Brothers (“Raising Arizona”) #horrorwatch
Oh cool! I’ve been out of the loop but thrilled to see this, I loved the original (prose) version
Male Yellow-bellied Seedeater (Sporophila nigricollis) in Jardín, Colombia last week. #hiking #senderismo #nature #photography 🪶
Little bird striking a Napoleonic pose atop a shrub. The black hood contrasts with the yellow belly. Same bird, more in repose with the fluffy feathered chest very evident.
