Some may recall the 2014 Ice Bucket Challenge. You may be shocked to know that in the 73 years between Lou Gehrig's & Ice Bucket Challenge creator Pete Frates's diagnoses, there had been little advancements. So while that was a breakthrough moment, we have to keep going & fighting for cures.

ALS/MND, sometimes called 'Lou Gehrig's Disease' after the famous baseball player who died in 1941 from it, is a terminal illness with a prognosis of 2-5 years after diagnosis. Someone is diagnosed with ALS every 90 minutes, & incidence is predicted to raise by 70% by 2040.

I donate 10% of profits to charities that research ALS/Motor Neurone Disease, or that support people living with ALS/MND. I make this donation on all pattern sales, even if you use one of my 'Pay What You Can' discount codes. And for my Seeds of Hope Cowl, I donate 100% of profits...
