A cliche now, but not when it was made: Wagner and Orff in Excalibur.
Like McMegan ever would have been willing to cobble together $37K per year adjuncting at three different schools, working to have her special viewpoint represented in academia.
Like, I don’t actually think that, but then I have no idea how to explain the sudden desperate flailing of Trump, Johnson and Bondi.
Super-excited to spend 2 hours watching a film created by someone with “no visual skill.”
“As I padded towards the elevators…” Are you a cougar? Who fucking “pads” around the office?
Sorry Donald, "Video Killed the Radio Star" is important because of its place in MTV history, not because it represented some pinnacle of Yes' musical output.
In other words, if it’s OUR government, we can negotiate to keep it open. If it’s just YOUR government, why should I care?
My feeling is that Trump and his lackeys are openly claiming the government as their own property, over which only they have any authority. If they can keep their new toy open by themselves, so be it, but Congressional Dems certainly have no obligation to help.
Not unrelated to all the smoking!
This is all such hopeless BS, but the idea that the American Revolution was some mythic struggle to preserve “the homeland” is laughable. It was a legal dispute with the colonial ruler, sparked by a tax rebellion.
I understand this is just a still capture of video, but what is going on with his tie? It looks like someone traced the tie’s outline with a marker.
This is a very unresearched thought, but it doesn’t seem like a coincidence that business cultures that genuinely believe in the notion of an omnicompetent management/consultant/investor class would look for the same qualities in an AI model. Specialization and expertise are so 20th century.
“We are influenced more by aesthetics than we are by rational arguments and logic” is about the cleanest expression of the fascist mindset as you are likely to find.
I actually really appreciate the frankness of this discussion, compared to the weaselly academic dodging of Yoram Hazony in his recent NYT interview with Ezra Klein.
Would be weird to have the prior two months get those big markdowns from their initial numbers but this one stays pat. Trend clearly seems to be downward, which is no surprise given the multiple hammers the administration is whacking employment with
Yeah, I was “growing up” in the 70s and 80s (so officially not young), and I’m fairly certain no Republicans, except for Donald Trump, look back on that era’s NYC fondly.
Climbers are tough. I still remember the skinny little lab mix at the SPCA that went over a 10’ chain link fence in the time it took me to close the door and walk back outside.
I do wonder if Trump is stuck in a situation where he knows there could be personally damaging/embarrassing materials in the DOJ’s possession, but really can’t ask for confirmation, for fear of triggering a response he can’t completely control.
Shocked to learn Mandani was eligible for that seat.
I mean, it wasn’t called Triumph of the Will for nothing!
Yeah. There are parts of the script that are OK, but almost all of the individual elements (effects, actors, plotting) just didn’t work for me. I recognize that wasn’t true for a lot of viewers, though.
That’s just embarrassingly sad.
