Lifelong Mainer. Star Wars fan nearly as long. Also love comic books, book books, David Lynch, David Simon, David Milch . . . just all the Davids. Red Sox & Oilers fan (covering the coasts). Pinko liberal because "progress" is in progressive.

This #StarWarsSunday, a gift from my 77yo mom who saw this stormtrooper costume & got it for my collection.
Despite loudly stating how foolish the film was in 1977, she always supported my fandom & used knowledge of my toys as street cred in the elementary class where she taught. #ForMom

Drop some MASKS 🎭 🖤 😷

#MobileArmoredStrikeKommand
Ad for MASK toys, the Mobile Armored Strike Kommand. A flying sports cars, similar to a Trans Am, is flying across the page, its roof-hinged doors acting as wings with machine guns at their ends. It is being attacked by a speeding chopper, like from Airwolf. At the bottom are a selection of the toys, including these two plus a tractor trailer a jeep and mini chopper. Ah, childhood!
5 cents off! Way to haggle!
Same. They were great for that!
Damn.
He was a legit legend.
Sometimes there's a spark in my brain, and I fall down a rabbit hole to elementary school in 1978.

A vintage Yes & Know invisible ink game & quiz book. These were amazing! Hours of fun. I just wish I could have done the games a second time. Six Ducks in a Pond, the level C reader I used to learn to read in 1st grade, in 1978.
Moebius was so good! Such a distinct style. Legend!
I could fall into that skyline, god damn

Monday is just around the corner 😬

I don’t know if it was a standout episode, but THE standout memory of the Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries for me will always be Lorne Greene as Dracula.
Lorne Greene as Dracula, from The Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew Mysteries.
Have a wonderful #SienkiewiczSaturday!
A page from Ultimate Team Up. The Punisher has a pistol knocked out of his hand by a thrown billy club. Frank Castle draws two more guns, yells, “You!” Daredevil catches the billy club he threw, says, “Frank, I already told you——there’s a better way to do this.” The Punisher replies, “No!” as he launches himself to one side, drawing a bead on DD. Art by Bill Sienkiewicz.
Apparently, I will be adding a DC book to my newly revitalized pull list, bringing the total monthly books to at least 2 (Lazarus Fallen being the other).
Those Indy omnibuses go for big bucks. Nice score!
All due respect to yourself, I do love seeing Greg Rucka’s name on that list!
I feel like this has to be a conflation of two memories, but I remember seeing this video on PBS, Sesame Street or Mr. Rogers. But that makes no sense.
Holy crap! Amazing!
Blevins does not get talked about enough, and the Williamson inks just make that piece sing!!
Damn, but Richard Stark (Donald Westlake) could effing write! He keeps jabbing, dropping short, quick, sharp chapters — 3 pages, 5 pages, maybe 10 — and then he drops 28 pages on your head about 2/3 of the way in, and it’s glorious. So good!

Butcher’s Moon by Richard Stark, a Parker novel. A snubnose pistol fills the upper half of the cover, with the silhouette of a man in a phone booth and an oversized sliver of a moon behind him on a blood red background. Top tier crime fiction!
