Oh hey I’ve been updating my video game mod with more interesting graphics and mechanics, with a hope to get a demo out this year.

Now I just need to make sure I spend more time making levels, less time coding enemies and mechanics…

And I bet half the script is probably some variation on “oh my god they actually went there and remembered this part of the Donkey Kong franchise”.

It’s genuinely insane how incredible Bananza’s finale is, to the point any rumour about it would have been seen as fan fiction.

This is something I’ve thought about too, just with social media sites and other online services. Oh, is the big company charging for this feature? Here it is for free, all of it.

Just putting exploitative games and products out of business would improve the world by a ton…

I think the goal was always just to market the console games more by introducing them to mobile gamers. If they make lots of money directly that’s cool, but if they sell at least a few more people on the Switch, even better.

Unfortunately that also makes them feel more like cut down demos…

If there’s one thing recent Nintendo games seem to be doing well at, it’s avoiding this issue. The last two Zelda villains? Sociopathic monsters with horrific motivations. Last Mario & Luigi villain? Ended up on the Pure Evil wiki in a week. DK Bananza’s villain? Oh hell yeah!

100% agree with BotW for sure. The first time through that game is just a magical experience overall, and one I wish I could experience all over again.

Then again, I feel a lot of big Switch 1/2 games are like that. Odyssey, DK Bananza, Luigi’s Mansion 3…
