This is the dumbest timeline, and if I ever catch the guy who went back in time and set us on this path I am going to punch that guy in the face.

I should probably clean out my voicemail for all of the requests for comment I am going to get about Brendan Carr's imminent meltdown and empty threat parade over this.

Wash, rinse, repeat.

STEPHANOPOULOS: I didn't insinuate anything. I asked you whether Tom Homan accepted $50k as was heard on an audio tape recorded by the FBI in September 2024. You did not answer the question. Thank you for your time.

VANCE: No, George, I sai--

STEPHANOPOULOS: We'll be right back

I was doing edits on an article proof this past week, and the journal editors kept adding notes to my citations saying they couldn't find articles online with the titles I had cited.

I had to explain how I used the paper version of the newspaper for the titles in the footnotes.

In the past, I have seen the online edition change headlines during the course of the day. Sometimes seems like it could be due to reader response/criticism.

Remember how Paul Ryan was talking about how much he liked RATM and everyone was like, dude, you are literally the machine they are raging against?!?
dieworkwear.bsky.social
seems like a non-insignificant percentage of rage against the machine's fanbase are young republican men driving SUVs bopping their head to anti-oil, pro-immigrant songs thinking the lyrics are about how they wish their suburban parents would get off their back
Tom Morello tweets: "Fascinating that all those “don’t tread on me” posers and their AR-15’s are nowhere to be seen and government tyranny is instead being opposed by a guy in an inflatable frog suit."

Someone named Manny replies: "@grok
why do some people say Tom Morello and band mates are RAGE FOR THE MACHINE and not against ?"

This might be the single best example of the "more speech" concept ever.

And you know it kills the Frank Castle cosplayers in ICE to be ridiculed like this.

Someone showed up with a cart of inflatables. The protest is now a dance party outside the PDX ICE facility. Federal police have mostly stood back but did unleash a toxin into the air @nbcnews.com

You would think these would be relatively easy 5(a) deception cases to bring, and shoddy health/diet claims often draw enforcement attention from the agency.

Or they used to anyway.

Curious. Is the FTC looking into false advertising claims bolstered by AI depictions of the supposed results?

Saw Tron Ares last night. Plot has holes BIG enough to drive a recognizer through, but the NIN soundtrack was 10/10.

Visually amazing. Worth seeing it on the big screen.

Other thought: Disney's need to include McGuffin plots and fan service to earlier movies in every series is very tired.

This is a preview of the content rules we can expect when Trump's cronies take over TikTok. TikTok will only allow content that shows the Trump administration in a flattering light 📉

Huh: TikTok took down my 8-second video featuring this image of Debbie Brockman — the news producer just detained by Trump’s CBP agents — saying it violates the “joy of TikTok”

Ohio Republicans concede that their poorly drafted age-verification bill may, in fact, have a loophole that excludes many adult sites.

The Speaker of the House says if it does, they'll push to fix it by Thanksgiving.

That hasn't stopped the AG from publicly trying to enforce the flawed law.
Pornography websites ignoring Ohio’s new age verification law, Yost says
Attorney General Dave Yost's office says it found 19 of 20 adult websites failing to comply with Ohio's new requirement to verify users are at least 18 years old.
