If you're going to give the prize to a popular rock album, wouldn't you choose Fontaines? No shade on Sam and his conceptual art project to rewrite Born To Run 1000 times, but seems odd

This is incredible
The BBC are accidentally running the subtitles to Mrs Marple over the Mercury Prize, and it’s rather wonderful. A few of lines could plausibly have been written by Jarvis.
Definitely mis-categorised, but could actually imagine it as a Barrett song, stripped down to just acoustic guitar
Just saw of clip of Taylor on TikTok and scoffed at the people in the comments thinking it was a real interview when it's obviously AI... And then saw the actual interview with Zane Lowe on YT. Weird times. www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUZ9...

Made a spec ad for Beavertown with a rave remix of Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now (because, er, why not?)
ChatGPT has come up with Zooropa. (Which does, to be fair, contain the only U2 song I mildly like, Stay)
Pondering examples of an album made in the midst of a gruelling, record-breaking world tour, that turned out to be a better idea than just having a bit of a rest after
Obviously you'd have to cut the "no autotune!1!!" guys
The boomer comments under YouTube vids of 60s/70s songs... 'Bittersweet' doesn't even start to cover it. Someone should compile a book. Here's just one example from recent Tubedigging www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBMG...

(or, indeed, the Gdn's TV 'critic')
Never trust a TV drama with plucked violins on the soundtrack
Irony is that it's been trying to appeal to that audience for years due to fears of one day having to directly compete with Netflix et al, and its output has diminished as a result. So we end up here, with Netflixificaiton of BBC aside from prestige don't-mess-with-it output (e.g. Attenborough)

Crepuscular Beatles, an idea I had last night, and here's the playlist. Love trying to find a new angle on the Fabs open.spotify.com/playlist/1QX...

It's a hackneyed analogy I know, but Starmer really is Sideshow Bob stepping on endless rakes. How hard can it be, my god. I've had part-time Saturday jobs with more rigorous strategising
After wincing through ep 1 of Guinness, I feel very strongly we should just blame Mr Knight (more fairly, seems to have boomed post-Bridgerton? Saltburn hasn't helped either I think)

Also, if your city isn't on this list yet and you run a theatre or event space there, let us know and we'll let you run it for free.

Email [email protected] and we'll get you fixed up. Again, this is real. Thank you.
Folks, some incredible news:

A couple of weeks ago, a national theatre chain axed our release of Jeffrey Epstein: Bad Pedophile because it mentioned Donald Trump.

Now, because of you, Jeffrey Epstein: Bad Pedophile will now run on over 25 screens throughout the world.

A list of screenings for Jeffrey Epstein: Bad Pedophile from New York, New York to Kelowna, BC.
Whose fault is it that every period drama now has to have BIG FONT TEXT on screen and modern music and hyperactive editing and exposition shoehorned into every scene? *sips Guinness*
