The digital photography situation was very similar. If you were a luddite that thought digital was evil, then you very quickly became irrelevant. Digital put a lot of photographers out of work, but those who survived didn't do so by sticking to film.

Everyone does, that’s how the photography industry slowly collapsed. When digital cameras along, suddenly everyones nephew can shoot your wedding.
Not to be vindictive, but at the time nobody gave a fuck. I’m glad that we do now.

We’re all using datacenters rn.
AI is turbocharging to machine, but we all add to it to some extent. What will help is regulation. But you can be mad at me if that makes you feel like you’re helping.

That was the point tho - AI created it so I didn’t have to credit the person who typed a sentence. And I later found out that they didn’t ask for credit.

Yes, they could have. Using photos and video that someone else shot. Those photographers probably won’t get credit. Our industry was decimated in the early 2ks, so forgive me if this seems like a tiny bit of justice.

Maybe it’s more complex than “AI bad.”

You should reexamine your “jump on the bandwagon” statement. And I’m not going to talk about my job today. But you are absolutely correct.

AI is built into Photoshop now. I hate that. I used to work on PS, too. This isn’t going away. What we need are rules on how we use it.
