Why does the world continue enabling old guys who clearly just need to hold onto power to stave off the inevitability that they will soon be dead? Leaders sell buy date is 60 I reckon.
Trump trumpeted that he’d brought peace. Why in earth does anyone listen to this ridiculous man? Surely we all knew that it was just political posturing. More than that it is just cruel.

He has cowed the media so it is now down to the electorate. I don’t believe any electorate in the world is stupid enough to vote for him again, certainly not US voters who value freedom and democracy.
Great to see hostsges returned. Long term peace though? Almost certainly not going to happen. Trump will spin until he - and we - are dizzy but it won’t change the reality on the ground.
Why is there no federal response?
Trump is a crook who realised that being a president placed his above the law. We sorted that out hundreds of years ago in England so no one in the UK is above the law. The US is playing catchup.

…there is no way he will ever get the Nobel - I’m sure even a horse’s head put in the bed of the Nobel committee chair wouldn’t work.
For goodness sake in along list of reasons he renamed his defence department the War Department!

I do agree that the actions of ‘lone wolves’ are instigated by those who either choose to incite fear and division or who are either careless or incompetent in the words they use.
I don’t believe right minded people support the wicked acts carried out by Hamas. Neither do they support the heinous behaviour of the Israeli government in Gaza.
I agree that there is no place for violence or for acceptance of violence. There are too many people looking to cause division for their own ends.
It’s frighteningly true - America is in decline for sure. What confuses some Americans is that they forget real power is soft - it is in relationships, trust, consistency. Trump is showing none of these things.
It seems to me that he should be entitled to whatever any MP receives, no more no less. I agree that it seems the people of Clacton may be regretting electing him as their MP - it is clear getting the seat was just a means to any end. Clacton people were used.
This is a time to remind ourselves that this was an act of extremists, of madmen, who do NOT represent the vast majority of people of whatever community.
I get that things happen to slow trains on their journey but when the train leaves already 7 minutes late it is not good. The UK train system needs a good kick up the derrière!

I’m reminded that there was a time when McCarthy was all powerful and everyone feared him…until the US people woke up. He is now a byword for overreach and abuse of power. It was push back from the Army amongst others that finally did for him.
I guess Hegseth wanted to see for himself how many diverse generals there were. As it turns out, not that many!
Even if you had a Greggs every day of the year it would cost you only £7.30p.
The military brass need to be clear - they defend the constitution.
