But, being the best comes with a price. Beyond fighting for peace against an empire that feels like a regenerative hydra by now, piloting hasn't had a spark for her in years. She lives with it. She enjoys her combat drills. She goes on hikes where she can.

This, WARHOUND and Hekate really do such great combined work of feeling wholly separate stylistically while feeling so easily part of one awful little universe.

That's what I'm trying to convince myself too yeah. It goes veeeery different places pretty early on, but the general introduction to it shares a few similarities I might want to tweak.

Honestly my only concern now is that Scotch's big arc in Singing Strix bares similarities I'm worried will make it derivative. Imperial grabbed girlfriend with a dancing theme is similar.

Where I'm taking it all is wildly different, but I hope I don't come off like a copycat there

First two chapters of Steel Jaws: Binary System down. Gorgeous prose so far. The dynamic between Belle and Sable is already so unlike anything I've read in the genre thus far. Utter dread knowing this is inevitably going to explode in Sable's face.

Okay, comfortably back into the swing of things with Hunter. No release date guarantees, but the last chapter shouldn't be too long a wait. The prologue story is meaty but my workflow should speed up as the main stuff gets going!
