Happy Monday (if you're into that sort of thing). Start it off right with some short fiction. "Tongue-Tied" by Shelley Lavigne is FREE to read on the CHM website.
My second appearance in @chmmagazine.bsky.social is also my first time being top-billed on the front cover of any publication! (The kittens were not impressed, but they're too young to understand and also they can't read.)
I wrote my corporate tragicomedy "The Ones at the Top Didn't Fall There" during @clarionwest.bsky.social 2021 during an apocalyptic heat wave in tech bro-dominated Seattle. I proceeded to revise it for the next four years. Thrilled to see it in print and can't wait to read everyone else's work!
I had the pleasure of reading frequent CHM author D. Matthew Urban's collection, SHAKY PICTURES OF VANISHED FACES. Tight prose and imaginative stories. Highly recommended for fans of weird fiction.
My wife and I get really into Halloween. This year we made bingo cards to change up our yearly viewings. We're drawing categories out of a hat, watching new-to-us horror flicks, and seeing who can get a bingo first!
Recommended for those weirdos who like to go the extra mile!
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed THE LONG WALK. I've never read the book, but the movie was harrowing and brutal, with beautiful moments of humanity. Great performances throughout.
