ICE agent refers to immigrants in detention centers as “animals” and admits to denying them medical care.

This happened during a raid in upstate NY last month. The news outlet obtained body cam footage, but on its website it only posted a transcript and not the actual video w/audio.

"I would not let anybody out of their cells, so we did it in an orderly fashion, had them all lined up. It's bathroom time, or it's f- brush your teeth time, or it's food time. Other than that, nope, your a- is staying in there. 'But you can't do that.' | absolutely can. 'I need a phone call.' No you don't. 'I need to go to medical. Nope, you look good to me," the agent said, mimicking a conversation with a person detained.
He continued to say that they kept the bathrooms inside the cells where people were held.
"They're, they're animals anyway. That's what I would tell my kids all the time," said the agent, who said he worked in the "intelligence unit."

14 year old Emmanuel Gonzalez, who has autism, was taken to the hospital for emergency surgery, but remains in immigration custody.

Houston PD/DHS have a lot of explaining to do. The boy’s mom reported him missing Oct. 4.

HPD now says they found him Oct. 5 and called ICE.

Gonzalez Garcia, who has autism, disappeared on Oct. 4 while his mother was selling fruit on the northwest side of Houston. He went to use the restroom and did not return.

Once those folks are in ICE dungeons…that’s it. We don’t hear from them again. It also desensitizes people and sends the message that well, that’s the way brown people are treated. All of it is horrific and overwhelming.

Yes. We need the videos. But these thugs get off on the attention. People need to remember that these thugs are really physically hurting people. There are countless cases of victims who’ve ended up w/broken legs, dislocated shoulders, injured wrists, head injuries.
