Idk, I don't think it was a great call but he said strike immediately and audibly. It's on the batter that that play happened because he did the melodramatic stuff that confused the baserunner. The call was not late, the signal was slow but that ump gave it in plenty of time for the baserunner.

If an owner builds a hotel next to a stadium and offer discount rates for people who have a game ticket, is a hotel reservation using a ticket baseball related income? What about beer sales at an adjacent bar used for pregaming? Any activity on an adjacent property directly is affected by baseball.

It feels so dumb to say that considering all the historicity of baseball, but also like, shut out start for a win, 10Ks, and 3 dingers is so much dumber. Like the broadcast said: "why would you walk this guy to load the bases? That's why." Genuinely what the hell did I just watch?

How does MLB not sell actual ads on the radio feeds via the MLB app. I mean, I LOVE learning what "oppo taco" means 57 times a game and hearing Mike Piazzas soundbites from 2001, but you'd think they'd at least try to do something with that time.

Fuck that. I'm not wearing a vest (except for style) or a helmet. Anyone who strikes a ped or bike in a car should get a mandatory minimum of 1 year, death of the ped or bike should be a mandatory minimum of 5 years. Most important cars and bikes shouldn't share a road bike lanes should be protected

It's unreasonable to expect a hitter to just 'be good' early in the season. It's completely normal to to need a game or 120 to start getting in the groove.

I don't understand why doing other stuff instead of focusing on the match is so en vogue. Like they did a thing on a kid who died, and I get it, tragedy, but like there's a tennis match happening. Wouldn't it be better to have this between games so I can focus on what the lady was saying?

The only good one I ever saw was some SA Int'l cricket match I'm watching middle of the day where they're talking to the captain in the field, just BSing, ball's hit her way and she just yells "FUCK" and after she makes the play she's like "firetruck, that's what I meant to say." AMAZING COMEDIC TV.
