Quite superb.

Okay, I am losing it, nothing but mad as hell. Why hasn’t someone filed an Injunction to Stop the demolition and destruction of the White House East Wing. How did this even start. Don’t the repubs give a shit at all about the People’s House being destroyed? Building this obscene ballroom
New Trump ballroom plans revealed.

Every time a MAGA says "George Soros," replace it with "The Jews" and you'll understand the motive.
If the Birmingham police made a decision that Maccabi Tel Aviv fans should be banned then that should be end of story. Going on about it only encourages both Tommy Robinson types and the halfwit independent MPs around Corbyn.
After half an hour I was getting fed up with Hart, which I suppose is the point about bitter clever people who cannot shut up (compare Alan Bates in Burley), but then the film took on more shape. Very good.
It is simplistic garbage for the last hour.
It's very weak, the power of Orwell's words constantly diluted by the director's choice of footage to put alongside them.
This starts off quite well with shots of Jura and Damian Lewis reading Orwell passages, then starts juxtaposing them with footage from versions of 1984 and great newsreel footage, but by the end it's a crude simplistic mess, like a really bad Adam Curtis effort.

Richard Linklater, Blue Moon.

Tremendous.
The programme for this year's London Film Festival is an absolute disaster.

There is nothing of any interest to anyone who cares about cinema.

The little Worcester film festival was better.
Jorgen Leth has died.

His verbal and filmic sparring with Lars Von Trier in The Five Obstructions (2003) was a landmark achievement in the history of European modernism. Of European thought in fact.

This is the President explicitly threatening to withhold federal funds from New York City if voters elect a candidate he opposes.

This is an unlawful attempt to coerce voters through federal financial threats and a textbook example of voter intimidation to influence the outcome of a local election.

#onthisday, 16 September 1886, #TurkishBaths were opened at the St Petersgate Public Baths in #Stockport. Hot rooms 135°, 175°, & 260° F, shampooing room, & cooling-room. Stained glass windows and gas-lit by night. JC Prestwich of Leigh beat 90 other architects in competition. Closed 1993. 🗃️ #C19th
I saw it too. Terrific, everybody had really done their homework and really put in a shift.
New production of Measure for Measure at the RSC.

Europe and US allowed this.
As if the lessons of WW2 taught them nothing.

Charlie Kirk is the Horst Wessel of the MAGA movement.
Maybe you would like to know that Mr Kirk said gays should be shot, children should watch public executions and Zelensky was a 'petulant child responsible for a million dead'.

2/ Before that he saw: eyes gouged out, lips cut off, ears, noses, genitals mutilated.
Not an army. A cult of torture.
Seven of his brothers died in that pit. He crawled for 5 days with festering wounds until he reached Ukrainian positions.
Have now watched The End of the F***ING World 6 times.

A towering achievement.

Part Romeo and Juliet, part Bonnie and Clyde, part American teen drama, part Tarantino, part Dennis Potter on acid.
This is actually Leslie Custard, and he said lemon, lemon, lemon.
