You said we’d have to stick to older authors if we want to avoid reading AI - I’m saying that’s not an issue because it’s very easy to just look up an author. People reading AI-written stuff instead is a separate issue to what I was responding to here.
charalanahzard.bsky.social
This isn’t the case at all - just check who your authors are!
charalanahzard.bsky.social
This isn’t really relevant to the issue I raised here. Some people maybe accidentally buying some AI shit is nowhere near enough to solve the economic issue. It’s billions upon billions upon billions of dollars towards an industry that does not solve any problems or close any market gaps.
charalanahzard.bsky.social
Yes, except the amount of money being put in to AI may as well be *infinitely* larger. It’s the largest bubble we’ve ever seen, and these companies putting huge amounts of money into an industry that currently has next to 0 means of making that money back.
charalanahzard.bsky.social
I’m quite seriously concerned about the economic collapse that’ll come with the AI bubble popping, and I feel like this really illustrates why: so many headlines touting huge numbers and insane productivity for services there is absolutely no market for. Who wants 8,000 extra books a year?
marcorinaldi.bsky.social
Why? Who is this meant to be good for? Nobody wants your shit AI books, never mind 8,000 in a year. Just a terrible idea and a horrible road the publishing industry is heading down.
Bookseller article with the headline "New publisher Spines aims to 'disrupt' industry by using AI to publish 8,000 books in 2025 alone" 🤮🤮🤮
charalanahzard.bsky.social
I fully thought they did 👀
charalanahzard.bsky.social
Yeah, this exactly. I don’t think it existed as a game.
charalanahzard.bsky.social
My current assumption is that it only DID exist at pitch stage (but fwiw I haven’t looked into this story super deeply).
charalanahzard.bsky.social
I don’t believe this Ubisoft Civil War game everyone is talking about ever existed. I know Far Cry 5 was originally written to be much more political than it was and they scaled it back - with the way Ubisoft dev cycles work, I can’t imagine a game being cancelled over re-worked.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps actor Ralph Ineson, who voiced the pirate Charles Vane in Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, reacted to news of a Civil War-set game in the Ubisoft series reportedly being canceled with four simple words. bit.ly/4mV1JUJ

Ohhhh true - nah I’m wanderer.
charalanahzard.bsky.social
Ah ok, then we’re doing the same amount of damage. I have one extra mask shard, which def makes a difference. I don’t clear any of the gauntlet rooms that fast though - I’d say they all take me at least 3 tries.
charalanahzard.bsky.social
I didn’t even know this existed!
charalanahzard.bsky.social
Also: do you have nail upgrades? I think I kill these guys with less hits than you are in this video - I had one when I tried the fight the first time, now have two.
charalanahzard.bsky.social
I feel like I should also note that I haven’t used tools. Ever. In the entire game. I recognize that I probably need to figure them out before doing more Hard Stuff lmao.

I came so hot off of finishing HK that I’m basically playing SS the same way by default - got normal pogo and never looked back.
charalanahzard.bsky.social
Hahahah basically yes! I got there, realized how hard it was (and then googled to make sure I wasn’t insane and yeah, it’s notoriously stupid hard), and left to get some upgrades I didn’t have. Currently at Mount Fay. I think I might also hunt for a few more mask shards before I go back.

WE HAVE A WHOLE PODCAST TOGETHER

Yes! And he was absolutely wonderful to work with - I’d LOVE to work with Khary again. Dude rules.
charalanahzard.bsky.social
Sadly you just watched the season finale first hahaha, but I’m glad you enjoyed it!
charalanahzard.bsky.social
I can take no credit for the writing or the vibe of the show in any way whatsoever, but it’s definitely tons of fun!

The episode of TV I recently directed is LIVE NOW! I loved working with this whole cast and crew, and would hire so many of these people again in a heartbeat ❤️. youtu.be/nj64TK45GhQ?...
A picture of me in a comic book store, which has ‘set’ lighting. I am pointing and speaking while holding a script. An image of actor Rahul Kohli looking at his phone, with me to his left holding a script to my face while smiling, and looking at actor Khary Payton who is holding a comic book to his face and smiling. We are in a comic book store. An image of a man who is sitting, wearing a pin-covered Lakers jacket, a hat, and some orange glasses. I am sitting to his left and looking at him while holding a script. He also has a walky talky in one hand. We are in a comic book store. A picture in a comic book store of people smiling at the camera!
charalanahzard.bsky.social
I genuinely could not disagree with this more strongly lol.

(It’s not that there’s no longer valuable information on the internet obviously, it’s just much harder to find considering the % of slop - AI generated and human made - is increasing so exponentially that the ‘actual information’ is being rapidly buried beneath it)
charalanahzard.bsky.social
I realized I’ve been sort of mourning the internet lately. It’s odd. This ‘place’ that used to contain a wealth of actually valuable information, and introduced me to many people I now call friends, and which paved the way for my career, has almost completely rotted away. It’s not coming back.

Do you ever think about the fact that Wikipedia is the last good major website on the internet? You aren't bombarded with ads. It doesn't try to push video on you, and it doesn't redirect you to a scam site.
