I will say my previous rice cooker was just a really basic one that my parents had had forever though so I don't have the BEST comparison point but it is definitely a nice rice cooker that we've already got a ton of use out of

in college I ate a lot of instant Ramen, but I'd make my own miso-soy broth, and throw in frozen veggies / a can of tuna. prior to having a rice cooker I'd stock up on microwave rice. and somedays dinner IS hummus and chips! or takeout! it's ok!

genuinely when it comes to low effort food...any food is better than no food 👍 I think the real trick (saying this as an adult with autism and depression) is knowing how to stock your pantry so the easy foods are around, and knowing when to cut corners!
