👏
TLDR; The PSF has made the decision to put our community and our shared diversity, equity, and inclusion values ahead of seeking $1.5M in new revenue. Please read and share. pyfound.blogspot.com/2025/10/NSF-...

Generally speaking I try not to be on later than I have to be, and I try to make my last thing of the day a meeting. But again, this is very specific to my timezone situation.
Note that I work in London with a team that is mostly US-West, and obviously the scheduling differs between those timezones. But, effectively, there are two big chunks of time in my day: enabling others and doing work myself.
1pm - 4pm: Mostly focused IC work
4pm - 7pm: Mostly meetings
I think the biggest shift from Intermediate -> Senior+ is that your output is no longer your priority. Enabling the output of others is.
The biggest difference as I've become more senior in my career is that email and slack are almost always full of things that need my input or review. Oftentimes that review is blocking.

If I'm to manage my time effectively and be effective cross-functionally, I need to prioritize these reviews.
9am - 12pm:
1. Emails, slowly
2. Slack DMs, slowly
How my work days go, as a Senior+ person: 🧵
Wait so I just woke up, it's 7:30am are y'all still playing baseball on the west coast??????

makes me weep to think of the gifts robbed from us because unaffordable housing has made it difficult for people to pursue their passions and hobbies
Anyways, no thoughts, head empty (not the way to enjoy csm frankly), ready to watch the angel devil in thigh highs on a giant screen
I remember when Spirited Away was released, it was limited running in one theater in Vancouver as basically an art house thing and this was with the full might of Disney behind it
And now I'm sitting here in one of multiple IMAX showings of this movie and while it *is* London it's also batshit to my old school fan self that this is showing *in an IMAX*??
I tortured everyone I know with the "is a hot dog a sandwich" question 10 years ago so,,,,
But there's a kid and his girlfriend cosplaying as Reze and Denji here, which is a bold choice given how that all goes down, but cute nonetheless
I mean insofar as a salad involves vegetables, oil and a crunchy element
Waiting inside the theater lobby for the chainsaw man movie should come with a spoiler warning 🥲

I like to think that this map of all the regional names for woodlice in the UK could also be a map illustrating the new tribes of humans to be found on the same landmass after The Great Digital Crash and ensuing breakdown of society.
How kind of you both to color code yourselves
I swear they hide those one-off Lizzy line <> not Lizzy line tap gates like those star gate things in Persona 5
How moving to London is going: forgot to tap out of the Lizzy line on the way back from the airport
