To me it more resembles one of those massive favelas with no formal boundaries, reliable infrastructure or planning codes. Anybody can walk in and out but they probably won’t find what they’re looking for.

Also, Substack now is nothing like the early blogosphere. Nothing! The way they have it structured now, it’s not even possible , even if they tried. The early blogs had a simple low-key beauty. Substack is a humongous kludge.

I was wondering about this. I assumed those crews were part of some fly by night cowboy outfit thrown together by Trump’s buddies using rented equipment because no reputable firm with an existing public profile would want to be associated with destroying the White House.

It’s either smoke because an unqualified crew caused an electrical fire.

Or toxic dust, again because proper work procedures weren’t being followed.

This is probably a fly-by-night crew because no reputable demolition company would want to be associated with wrecking an American heritage site.

Not sure I buy the big bad Twitter corrupting poor innocent journalists framing. It ain’t Twitter. They choose to be this way. It’s why they hang out on Twitter.

Also I was being rhetorical. Everybody across the spectrum is expected to be evenhanded, which means knee jerk dismissal of anything that might look like a conspiracy theory. Even if it’s done in plain sight. Even if it was obviously a factor.
