Banning the 🇪🇺 only shows the post #Brexit British insecurity and provincialism.
catiomiles.bsky.social
As we discuss flags and their meaning and values, the 🇪🇺 is banned in the U.K. according to a 2021 Boris Johnson law still in place under Starmer.

But the flag represents everything for people in Ukraine, or Budapest, Romania or Tbilisi. 👇
Ukraine Budapest Romania Tbilisi

And now they are wearing the same suits and ties from the same tailor 😜
catiomiles.bsky.social
Indeed

Also €zone interest rates are historically much lower due to the decreased risk coming from scale.

Greece for example pays 3.50% on their government debt whereas U.K. pays 4.70%….

I was referring at Catalonia as an example of a construct that has more autonomy than Wales.
catiomiles.bsky.social
We may call Wales a “country“, but I’m not sure it has more autonomy than Catalonia for example.
catiomiles.bsky.social
Wow.

No wonder Sadiq is furious with Starmer.

Meanwhile voters make alternative political choices. London & other metropolitan cities voted remain.
catiomiles.bsky.social
Wow!

When is the YouGov poll for London from?

She’s got very bad judgement.

Not sure why she wasn’t to play the role of the useful idiot.

Similar to Zia Yusuf, another useful idiot.

Big John who considers himself as a “proud Englishman” was also often described by the British Media as the “embodiment of the British identity”.

Now arrested abroad for visa violations.

No kidding.

There is an alternative, much better solution for the NI prosperity.

And I do hope the people of NI will ask for it.

And he needs to take ownership of his bad judgement

And?

Brexit is a lose-lose and the EU said it from day 1.

Unlike the Uk who never said it apart from today.

Anyway, do you want to live better?

Join the EU!!
catiomiles.bsky.social
but it was restricted at the small territory of the U.K. , no?

It’s like saying the citizens of the 26 cantons of Switzerland had all of that.

Or Liechtenstein has 11 municipalities, all of them with the right to declare independence by the way.

So not sure what your point is
catiomiles.bsky.social
That’s why it is so important for Britain to be part of the Council of Europe.

Starmer, Farage and Badenoch want to take our freedoms away.
catiomiles.bsky.social
I hope that Rachel Reeves is preparing the ground work for a small limited mobility deal (and I think Starmer is at 50-50) and some agri deal.

But this would not make huge difference.

And the government should say how much of the damage is being reversed with the “make Brexit work” Labour policy.

What is ridiculous is to conclude correctly that Brexit is the source of economic pain and then do nothing to reverse it.
catiomiles.bsky.social
These are excellent points.

Hope the SNP will make it clear in their manifesto.

In the end Scotland will have the same destiny as Estonia or Slovakia or Croatia or Ireland had: leaving a bigger country, set up own currency briefly, join the EU and then the €.
catiomiles.bsky.social
So how much of the 4% negative impact will be reversed by Labour policy to “make #Brexit work”?
catiomiles.bsky.social
This is good.

But what is missing is how would Labour “make #Brexit work”.

It’s about time!

There are key limitations highlighted in the article on the data used.

“One limitation of the data is that HM Revenue & Customs’ records do not show the number of hours worked”.

But is a good article explaining correctly that when you cut workforce but keep output, productivity logically goes up.

I’m curious how long the “in depth” interview will last and if Laura will only ask the same question 7 times…
catiomiles.bsky.social
Can we imagine the same question to Trump‘s spokesperson.
