I wrote a story about love shared through the generations of a family:

Maybe you'll take time today to write a poem to the hope that lives inside and waits to be heard. Even if your words never see paper, if they exist only in your head, be kind to yourself. Write the poem you need to get through this.

Thank-you for taking time to share this poem. So thoughtful.

Fall Song

It is a dark fall day.
The earth is slightly damp with rain.
I hear a jay.
The cry is blue.

My #sundaysentence this week is Ani DiFranco contemplating the immediate outcome of writing: “I wake up to the fact that I have transformed my pain into something more beautiful and useful than it was in its original state.”

That run down the drain
In colored arrangements
That Michael will change with a stick that he found

I just learned that a distant ancestor previously unknown to me was the inspiration for the character Ma Kettle in Betty MacDonald's semi-fictional memoir, the Egg and I. Ma and Pa Kettle, the film series, followed. And this gives me a reason to smile.
