Marjorie Taylor Greene : "Prices have not come down at all. The job market is extremely difficult. Wages have not gone up. Health insurance premiums are going to go up. Homeowner's insurance goes up every year. Rent is going up. Young people have no hope of buying a home."

Marjorie Taylor Greene on Trump's tariffs: "It's bumpy. I'm talking to major manufacturing companies that are saying...'We're having problems with these tariffs.  And now we're having problems, we can't get supplies'...There's problems."

The loss of Keaton is a blow to any fan of 1970s cinema. So iconic.

“It made my career,” she said of “Annie Hall.” “It was everything. It’s the reason we’re sitting here having this nice conversation. Everything always goes back to that.”

“.. He handed it to President Trump and, as Trump read it, his expression shifted. Moments later, Rubio leaned in and whispered something to him - and in that instant, I knew I had captured something meaningful.”

“.. it is Trump’s moral indifference to the human rights transgressions of his partners in the peace plan that allows him to break through old paradigms. ..

“.. That is the same moral indifference that will prevent him from ever getting a Nobel.”

The rupture “raises fresh doubts about whether Trump, operating with a hollowed-out national security team and a fragmented China strategy, is prepared for Beijing’s latest power play.”

A rare admission from the administration that policy choices have knock-off effects.

In this case: immigration crackdowns raise your grocery bill.

“Are these tariffs ‘Liberation Day 2’?” Or will we get another ‘TACO Tuesday?’

This is how we all talk now. Absurd. 🌮

What an emblem of the billionaire class—descending on a peaceful city in a private jet on the horn to NYT asking for the place to be invaded by federal authorities because the rent-a-cops you employ for a week to harass a few junkies outside the convention center cost too much.
Mr. Benioff spoke as his annual Dreamforce conference is set to begin Tuesday in downtown San Francisco, bringing 50,000 visitors to the city. He is scheduled to deliver a keynote address about the benefits of "agentic enterprise," a business model in which humans and artificial intelligence bots work together.
Speaking by telephone from his private plane en route to San Francisco, he lamented that he has to pay for nundreds of off-duty law enforcement officers to help patrol the convention area and said that San Francisco needed to "re-fund" the police.
The city never actually "defunded" its police force, and San Francisco's violent crime rates are below those in many other U.S. cities.
But San Francisco has struggled to recruit and keep officers, and it still has problems with lower-level crimes and open-air drug use, especially in neighborhoods like the Tenderloin near City Hall. It has about 1,500 police officers, and Mr. Benioff says it ne → another thousand.

“.. The pitch to prospective lenders didn’t mention the billions of dollars of off-balance-sheet debt, people familiar with the matter said. Jefferies didn’t respond to requests for comment.”

This is a flex.

He know his rubes will believe any shit he tells them and he wants to see how far he can take it.

Next week he'll tell them everyone in Portland lives in caves now and eats brontosaurus ribs like the Flintstones.

Trump: "Portland, I mean -- every time I look at that place it's burning down. There are fires all over the place. When a store -- there are very few of them left -- but when a store owner rebuilds a store they build it out of plywood. They don't put up storefronts anymore. They just put wood up."

"President Trump continued to describe Portland as a city on fire Friday even as residents enjoyed the first fall rain and the lone demonstrator at the city’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement building was dressed as a pink Care Bear."

Sometimes there is a good sentence or two in the NYT.
