"That song isn't mine anymore." - Trent Reznor on "Hurt"

So grateful for these Johnny Cash/Rick Rubin "American" series albums for providing a send-off worthy of a legend

Lou Reed was fiercly angry at the state of America, as reflected in this brutal takedown of the 80s Reagan era

AIDS, consumerism/capitalism, NRA, pollution, Trump, racism - all addressed in densely packed, pissed off lyrics that result in an evergreen protest album.

Tis' the season! 🎃

An excellent Halloween themed album from Duran Duran - spinning it as well as the recently released "expansion" album (from Record Store Day) quite a bit these weeks to get into the spirit!

Definitely agree - great driving/walking around music
As a child of the 80s, I have welcomed and enjoyed the whole synthwave trend over the last decade+, as it mined the music of that era and provided a modern spin

This new album from The Midnight does just that, and with each listen, it is rapidly becoming my favorite album of 2025

Some terrific live Ertha Kitt from 1962 - just love it!

She was a great live performer, and this album of her big hits captures that wonderfully (couldn't find this album on streaming, so posting the studio version of "I Want to be Evil")

Also - Best.CatWomen.Ever! Just facts

Picked up this one because I needed a rock fix, and it was just the medicine!

With a heavy focus on their new material from "Who's Next", the band was at the peak of their powers, and sound terrific!

By 1966, Otis was working to expand his audience, and take control of his career. The Whiskey A Go Go was primarily a rock venue, with a mostly white audience - you can really hear him going for it to reach them

The result is a wildly fun and energetic album that hits on soul, R&B and rock
Given the scathing reviews of the new album from Arcade Fire, it will likely not reverse the "diminishing returns" of their last several releases - personally, as a fan of the group, I found enough to enjoy on the album, but wouldn"t put it with their best

After 50+ years, there is an official re-release of the first, and only, pairing of Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks

The album was a bust at launch (which is surprising to me), but very glad it has been newly released - high recommend for all FM fans

1983 compilation of Bond songs - works for me as I feel the best songs were pre '83 anyway

My top 5 Bond songs (excludes main theme):

5. All Time High
4. For Your Eyes Only
3. Live and Let Die
2. Nobody Does it Better
1. Goldfinger

Really enjoying this rootsy/bluesy album by Jon Batiste - recorded in only a week, with many tracks completed in one take - shows you don't need big production to make a great album

One of my favorite singer/songwriters (especially throughout the 70s) takes on racism, politics, alcoholism, and just being human - and it is a masterpiece.

"Welcome back my friends, to the show that never ends"

With a title taken from Dr. John's "Right Place Wrong Time" (which means.... well.... y'all can look that one up....) the supergroup Emerson, Lake and Palmer (ELP) released a real prog highlight with this one!

When Willie Nelson's daughter told him her husband was being abusive, Willie threatened the guy to stop. The situation escalated until Willie shot up his truck with a shotgun, earning the title "Shotgun Willie"!

Terrific outing from Mr. Nelson

A fun compilation of "Exotic Blues and Rythm" from the Stag-O-Lee label released earlier this year.

As the promo says.... "danceable popcorn grooves, a few t*tty-shakers and '50s rhythm and blues - all with an exotic flair" - contained on a uniqie 10" vinyl.

Just some good fun

An album that defined a movement - while modern cynism looks back at the 60s as naive and hypocritical, I wish I could have experienced it - something to be said for authentically championing love and peace - especially compared to whatever people belive today...

Really enjoying the latest from Sam Fender

Adam Granduciel has a producing credit on this one, and it is evident in the soaring, War On Drugs-ish choruses - which are great!

Rock is not dead! 😁

A terrific compilation of Jazz remixes (mostly from the 90s)

DJs reflection of Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and others from different perspectives - makes for some real smooth listening - just loving this recently released comp (2025) 😁

Just some great beats - Afro House is a sub-genre of House originating from South Africa in the 90s - a really fun compilation

This Bristol, England based group basically invented a new sound in 1991 with this debut album

They wanted to call the sound "minimalist lover's hip-hop".... didn't take... but the much catchier "trip-hop" sure did

This 2004 debut from @scissorsisters.bsky.social is a ton of fun. It is very mid-70s glam rock / Elton John / Bee Gees / Bowie / etc. It also focuses on some LGPTQ topics that were rarely discussed in the mid-aughts.

A total blast of an album!
Listening to this one really needs a fireplace and comfy afghan blanket - this 1970 album contributed to defining post Beatles rock - merging folk, blues, gospel, and rock with Mr. Taylor's signature calming vocals
