Sunrise colors over the High Peaks from Ampersand yesterday morning (9/17/25). I was up pretty early for the 1 1/2 hour drive to the trailhead, but it sure was worth the drive and early morning hike!
Aurora over Brant Lake this evening. This was during the peak of the KP7 aurora, taken at 10:52 PM on 9/14/25. I noted an unusual aurora cloud that traversed the sky above the shafts 3 or 4 times during the peak of the aurora. What a beautiful sight and easily visible by eye.
In Between... A half hour before sunrise yesterday morning on Cat Mt., moonlight was lighting the clouds overhead, while the the warm dawn light was glowing on the clouds far to the east.
Sunrise colors over Lake George this morning. I'd been keeping an eye on weather conditions and it seemed like a good morning to take a hike with a camera in the Lake George area!
One last photo from the top of Noonmark on 9/2/25 - a 'self portrait' with a backdrop of Sawteeth, Haystack, Marcy, and the Great Range.
Enjoying the magical view of the Adirondacks High Peaks in early morning sunlight
