Screenshot of Butterball in VR Chat. She's sitting on the ground, resting one elbow on her knee. She's wearing a brown Furry Weekend Atlanta 2023 t-shirt and denim shorts. Behind her is a field of tall, yellow grass, a large tree with yellow leaves, and a copse of pine trees and moutains further in the background. A sketchy digital painting of a sunrise in a misty moor. A black unicorn stands in the mists, the wind blowing its mane and tail. A painted miniature of Butterball as a Druid, wearing leather armor that is adorned with leaves and green accents. She stands on ruined brown stones with bright leaves, vines, and mushrooms growing between them. Butterball in fursuit standing in front of a coral reef aquarium.
Thought about this again while watching some Moomin stuff for the first time last night lmao. Mr. Hemulen having a crisis after completing his stamp collection reminded me of the thoughts that would keep me up at night. even tho I was never at risk of 100%ing pokemon blue at age 6
You could catch every Pokemon, level them all to 99, but there's no trainer rematches, all the dialogue is the same, the world becomes forever stagnant. The only thing left to do after that is start a new game and erase those Pokemon from existence. That made me feel really, like... disturbed, sad.
If you're into creepypasta stuff, it has a faithfully made fangame (think like if someone ripped the rom from the cart in the creepypasta), with an alternate ending supposedly by the original author. The dev would post demos on YouTube, and the author saw it reached out to them, so the story goes.
Oh hell yes! Putting this on the agenda for this week. Have had this on my wishlist since the quoted post last year

2025 Furry Species Census Servy

Once again I bring you a furry species census!

The last time I did this in 2023 y'all submitted over 10,000 characters! I wonder if we'll beat that this time?

Thank you!! 😭 She was made by @pythania.bsky.social ! I just dress her up :3
Recreating irl clothes and bootlegging funny t-shirts for my avatar is one of my favorite hobbies that I've picked up this year lmaooo
One of my little projects last week was porting the soapcat DLC hoodie onto Butterball! I love getting to reuse textures lol

I really like how the dinosaur pic turned out :] These are based on hoodies I own irl (Big Blanket Co Hideout Hoodie and AMNH souvenir hoodie)

She's wearing a dark blue hoodie with an American Museum of Natural History design on the front, featuring the silhouette of a t-rex standing in front of a yellow and orange setting sun with the word "PREHISTORIC" underneath, and a pair of denim shorts. I guess this is just what getting older feels like. Part of what trips me up about it is that I feel like the world has changed so much in so little time. Did the world feel like it changed this fast for previous generations too?
I remember when The Nether was added. My husband remembers he was playing before they added beds. When I was playing Minecraft with my school friends using logmein hamachi because we couldn't figure out port forwarding, I was almost finished with high school.
If you'd asked me a few months ago when I first played Minecraft, I would've told you "middle school, I guess" but then I looked up the dates for the various patches and... no ... no

it always makes me feel soooo old when I think about where I was in my life when Minecraft ACTUALLY came out. My brain has compressed my life before college into a single zip file named "childhood", in which my earliest Minecraft memories are, but I was actually a senior in high school in 2011.

oooh, this absolutely ROCKS! I just know I'm gonna lose an afternoon to browsing this stuff, I love this
The reason I make art is to express a part of myself. Share a little piece of me, something I love from my perspective, whatever the lens that is my brain and hands makes it look like that day. AI can never replace you because it's NOT you, and it can never make something from your perspective 🧡
--because 99% of the people I see failing to identify AI, or falsely flagging actual art for something generated, aren't artists themselves, or they're very new artists.
I've got insecurities about my own art style, I feel like it's not unique or consistent. But I think that's okay. Because...
I've been ruminating on it for a while, what the reason may be that some people can tell AI stuff easily and others can't, even though it seems "obvious" to the rest of us. And I think it's just that you have to be familiar with the process of Creation to see the process in others' Creations--
It's hard for me to internalize uncharitable things about strangers, generally, but it really is simply that some people just kinda have an under-developed part of their brain such that they can't tell the difference, and I think that's a failing on their part, and not yours.

like... hobby horsing looks like such a fun and wholesome activity and it's near the top of my list of "hobbies I wish I had time for and/or had people around me who would also want to partake in this hobby and not call it cringe"
ok but has anyone in the uma musume community gotten into Hobby Horsing. I'd love to see some labubu horses made into hobby horses and see people race em
