Alan Davis and Paul Neary covered Detective Comics 569 (1986), and also interiored, along with Mike W. Barr.
Batman tries to free Robin, while the Joker holds an unconscious Catwoman. Batman and Catwoman have a conversation, and Selina suggests the two of them retire to her place - alone. Batman says, “Please, Selina… not in front of the boy.”

He did good work. I don’t think he’s on BlueSky anymore. Great guy.

Looks like it’s by Simon Williams! Love his Hulk work.

Back into my Hulk read-through tonight, with 141 (ending at 150 when this installment concludes). Inkers over the past few issues have included Sal Buscema, Sam Grainger, and Mike Esposito - all well known to Bronze Age babies.

But 141 marked the return of John Severin, and wowza - another level!
Hulk 141 cover - Herb Trimpe Hulk 141 splash - Hulk bends over to put his hand in a puddle. Roy Thomas, Trimpe, and Severin were the creators.

I’ve been telling people, they’ve read the playbook.

Excerpt from Robert Jay Lifton’s The Nazi Doctors, p. 17.
Discussion of the Nazi state as a biocracy, with a “priestly class” seeking to “purify” the Aryan race through eugenics, exclusion, etc.

Melvin Potter’s togs - while wholly impractical - are among the finest baddie costumes around. Love this look!

Daredevil 18 (1966) and 113 (1974) were both penciled by John Romita.
DD 18 cover - intro. the Gladiator Full body shot. Pinup from DD Annual 1 DD 113 cover - Daredevil is down on the dirt, as the Gladiator leaps upon him from behind.

The first year of Nova - to middle-school me - was solid gold. Second year? Not so much.

Letter writing is a lost art…

How about some MCG, Marvelmania, or MMMS stationary to put you back in the mood?

When I was a Holocaust educator, teaching teachers how to teach the Holocaust, we often got pushback when we in fact preached “let the history stand on its own”. The response was often, “But I want my students to FEEL *xyz*!”

Then give them a diary excerpt. They’ll get it on their own, in time.
