It’s a common spy novel/movie trope about the guy who speaks multiple foreign languages with an accent indistinguishable from a native. But in reality the people who can do that with a language learned as an adult are exceedingly rare, if they exist at all.

There is a bit of a difference in that a child tax credit would presumably only apply while you have dependents under the age of 18, whereas a childless tax penalty would be forever until you had a child, in which case it would be gone forever
There are a lot of people with somewhat incoherent politics offline who want both decreased taxes and increased social services/welfare state. But I guess they usually don’t call themselves socialist.
