Playwright, artist, co-owner of zero-waste store The Eco Flamingo and The Eco Cafe. Native NYer happily living in Chicago (it smells better here). Wishing we weren't fighting Nazis in 2025.

The Eco Flamingo is cool as heck, and I feel comfortable saying that because I'm not a founding owner, just someone who jumped on the bandwagon.
Also, I'm saying we have to buy groceries. And we also have to add vigilance into our every day so we can record kidnapings if we can't prevent them.
Look, I live 3 blocks away from where someone got abducted last week. I grocery shopped today. I'm also walking my dog near the schools at release time, keeping my whistle handy at all times, and slowing down every time I see someone pulled over to make sure it's just the Chicago Police.

I feel like they’re burying the lead a bit

Clearly Trump lied when he said his $250 million ballroom wouldn’t “interfere” with the White House.

So who’s watching this mess; the White House Historical Association or the Office of the Curator? Because someone needs to make sure he’s not bulldozing history for a dance floor.
It's like checking the Covid death reports back in 2020. So devastating. And even more preventable.
Yeah, I didn't realize about the White House until just now. I still haven't read a story on the Louvre bc I just got foster kittens yesterday and they are a more joyful way to spend time. Plus these kittens aren't gonna socialize themselves.

No, kidnappings have also not stopped at NYC's immigration court or in L.A. & D.C.

Corporate media apparatus will continue treating this all as disparate events rather than a national emergency

Children will go to bed without their parents tonight. Let's keep talking about that stupid video.
Seriously. I don't know how these ass-hats think our economy works or who they think does 95% of the farm labor.
I've discovered a new form of yoga where you stretch every muscle on one side of your body while lying on the floor trying to pet scared foster kittens that are hiding under the bed, the dresser, the night stand. Also good for picking up dust bunnies with ones clothes.
I'm proud of you. I could not have done that.
Did y'all have a sudden cold snap? Is that why so many fell off while still partially green? Or does this tree just do this.
I opened a cafe in March that is also a zero-waste market, has a take-a-book/leave-a-book area, plus a case full of books on sustainability, plus we sell locally made baked goods, and we have dried flower art. So... close?
Yeah, I'm annoyed with the folks who are calling it performative and empty and saying "what will you do that actually matters?" Everyone needs to take those first steps. People don't go from zero to organizer in 5 seconds.
This is a photo a friend's sister in CT took off her front walk. Not gonna lie. I'm a little envious. The only critters that eat my pumpkins are squirrels and chipmunks.
Be safe out there today, y'all. I doubt the violence will come from our side, but protect yourself as best you can.
Love the title and the painting.
Every time I'm on a plane I reminisce about the days when I could awkwardly skootch past my seatmates and get to the bathroom without them having to get up.
Seriously. I saw a post like this yesterday, but it seemed to be a different guy.
Wow. So lush. I'm guessing that rain has something to do with it.
