I live in Appalachia and the news barely covered it and never showed the true scope of the disaster from Helene

Meanwhile LA fires got wall to wall coverage

I did find the communities did set up shelters so only 1 person died and 2 are missing even tho that is too much

That could have been way worse
But 2 communities got washed away by river flooding
