Some are bad, yes. If a movie is a musical, they need to advertise it as a musical. Be unapologetic about it. For example: the Mean Girls movie musical. The trailers didn’t even show singing so it just looked like a regular remake. Sure it’s not a good musical, but it didn’t help box office numbers.

I admit that the marketing has been intense, but historically movie musical advertising is shit and that’s why they often flop. At least they’re going all in on what seems to be a universally lauded movie. Can’t wait to see it this weekend.
