True, but FDR held a massive supermajority in 1937-38 with 78 out of 96 seats in the Senate and 334 out of 435 seats in the House.
So his claim that we were near civil war because of New Deal debt seems off.
We really only have term limits because he stomped them 4 times then died in office

Was the country divided over the new deal or WW2? They elected FDR 4 times, but the wealthy did try a coup to install Smedley Butler & remove FDR, inspired by Mussolini’s march on Rome & a French coup the Fiery cross that removed a center left president for a conservative, but Butler betrayed them.

I had to have several fights about injecting politics into StarWars while I was living in post Katrina NOLA which informed a lot of the idea. There were compromises, the pitch was more overt but ultimately some of it stayed. Future stories benefit from the fights creators are willing to have today.

When you say “normal StarWars” please know that when I wrote the plot to how the Death Star plans were obtained in the comics. The empires greatest weapon without a DeathStar was colonialism. That colonialism created a civil war that allowed for the heist.

Columbus was ones of the worlds most prolific child sex traffickers the world has ever known. Boat after boat raped the women & kids of Haiti and Cuba to death. They tested the sharpness of their knives by grabbing lumps of flesh from children to see how many sawing motions it took to cut it off.

Nearly half the state is (D) and it has the one of the lowest costs to flip a vote of any state but gets no investment. These states aren’t red they’re manufactured to look that way. The history of our state is so dark it’s an easily believable narrative though that keeps it’s worst people in power.

The entire Republican Party feels like this to me. He modeled behavior for every elected rep on that side of the aisle too cowardly to stand up to this klan behavior & lynch language.
This is what keeps good people from running for office and they know it. A sane Congress would bar him from office

Yes, but how much less could we pay if we paid with our tax dollars for healthcare as if we were a first world country, instead of making “profit” the central problem in our health systems.

Imagine if the 26% of the US that are disabled & their loved ones voted as a block for your party.

Medicare for All or healthcare as a human right means everyone within US borders gets healthcare. 70% of the US favor these policies. Who are they worried about? The people who want a klu klux krackdown on immigration?!
