Darrens' work also focuses on digital risk, gatekeeping and control and building digital resilience and skills. He is passionate about challenging the exclusion of groups within society from the digital world. He spends much of his spare time playing action RPG games 🎮

Raul is currently finalising his PhD at the University of Surrey, where he explores how VR can be used to reduce mental illness stigma among healthcare students. Alongside his PhD, Raul has contributed to teaching on the MSc Psychology of Game Design and Digital Innovation programme.
