A very enjoyable afternoon wandering through the woodlands surrounding the Churnet Valley. Pleasantly surprised how nice this part of Staffordshire is. Could hear the screams coming from Alton Towers at times today.

To be fair the limestone plateau has looked like this for centuries with only the ravine woodlands remaining in the white peak. Some really good examples of species rich grasslands though (it’s not all about trees)with nature positive schemes.Unfortunately much of the plateau is intensively grazed.

When I got in the car last night I got a face full of spider web. It was quite distracting having this beauty sitting above my head. I’ll be serving an eviction notice later today. Partly because there is no suitable food in the car and because we disagree on what music to play.
