Pitches is the main issue holding playing numbers back
Really enjoyed this podcast
Nearly 40 lads showed up for reserve training last night, with none coming from the 35 man first team panel

Could the new rule enhancements be bringing more players to the game??

Now, we just need Jim Gavin to sort us out with more pitches!!

I only learned about this story a few years ago when it appeared alongside an article about a pipe bomb attack on us. It sent chills down my spine

More people need to support this family, there’s an active campaign to hide the evidence from them
A lawyer for the family of murdered GAA official Sean Brown told a court in Belfast that a public inquiry could shine a spotlight on the truth about what happened
Lawyer for Brown's family says inquiry could reveal truth

One time, this guy sent a really strange letter to the club. It was about 10 pages long, with some parts handwritten and others typed, but none of it made any sense. We ended up passing it to the police to keep on file. It’s clear the man is struggling with a mental health issue
6/ Dialogue is essential. It’s not just about speaking but also about listening and understanding other perspectives. To build a shared future, we must foster inclusion through both conversation and action, embracing the multiple communities that now shape our society.
5/ The term “Greening” often causes fear that embracing Irish culture could undermine other identities. In reality, embracing Gaelic games is about accommodation, not assimilation, and strengthens community connections without erasing diversity.
4/ Our G4MO team provides a space where migrant mothers can play Gaelic games socially, build networks, and foster belonging. Importantly, this doesn’t diminish their identity but enhances it, allowing them to share and celebrate their culture.
3/ Our work with migrant families highlights the need for spaces where everyone feels included. While kids form friendships, there are few opportunities for migrant mothers to connect, share experiences, and feel part of the community.
2/ The outdated notion of two distinct communities is long gone and unlikely to return. Our society is now a mosaic of cultures, and embracing this diversity is key to building a resilient, inclusive future.
Accommodation > Assimilation

1/ How do we describe those moving here who don’t fit the traditional two-community framework in the North? Newcomers? Migrants? Asylum seekers? New Irish? Migration is essential to sustain vital services amid skill shortages and an aging population.
Why are you making this a story about Jarlath Burns??

This is such a weird angle for this story
I think he's insane, like actual lost the plot insane
Surely there will always be a need for soft power?
Are shared participatory spaces the future for public spaces everywhere?

#GAA #EastBelfast #Community #SharedSpaces
A GAA-led shared participatory space would not only promote Gaelic games but also act as a beacon of inclusivity, resilience, and unity. It would be a vital step toward a brighter, more cohesive future for the community.
Economically, the project could stimulate local growth by creating jobs and attracting visitors to events. Partnerships with local businesses could enhance the space's offerings, benefiting the broader East Belfast area.
The space could also facilitate non-sporting activities, such as language classes, cultural events, and community forums. By combining sports with education and social engagement, it would cater to the broader needs of the community, ensuring that everyone feels welcome and valued.
