Not to mention, my absolute least favourite scene is the Glitz and Glam introduction scene, because they BLEND IN almost entirely despite being meant to stand out, and their arms are literally hidden because of all the black, it’s embarrassing from a seemingly now professional studio

And she has so many good points. WHY are, not just Hazbin, but Helluva, too, SO red, WHY are there so many bow ties specifically, and why is the information available about these characters, like the time periods they lived in, not consistent with the designs? And why so many of the same Xs and reds

just because your an artist doesn't mean you understand animation or animation productions you aren't privy too. I'm fucking sick of people who aren't as knowledgeable in something, talking for 3 hours about it like they are a master. It is in fact annoying to us actually doing it. jus sayin.

Do you guys love whitewashing and colourism? Then just play Voidpets! With the added bonus of a dev team who cannot take criticism and earned $800K from an accelerator, yet “can’t afford a social media manager” to handle the fact that they don’t want to talk to their community that they created!

A showing of 3 Hyphen designs. One being the original, the darkest version of her by a drastic measure. The second being an extremely whitewashed version of her, and a new version, which seems to serve somewhat as a middle ground. I also made a doodle of her to show that there is nothing wrong with her original colours, even in darkness.

There is a screenshot from Lindashad, the co-owner and founder of Voidpets, saying:

“In my game art, I never thought about lines or lighting. But with animation now in mind, I need to choose colors that contrast with black lines and work under different overlays. That means the base templates appear lighter/grayer than before - but will be richer and more saturated in a fully rendered scene.”

I have also written notes, such as:

“This version is better but
a) No apology has been made (she blocked me on TikTok for asking her to)
b) she is still lightening all of her
Characters
c) She thinks dark skin is bad for
animation.”

And also “she proudly showed these off” about her whitewashed characters

A comparison of all past and current designs of Linda’s game characters, with at least 5 characters of 9 being noticeably whitewashed, and 3 of which being extremely whitewashed, one character going from a dark skinned black woman to extremely light skinned

Discord chat message history from Gedder, one of the devs, as reads:

We could have started reading staff chat if you asked I suppose.

This obviously was a big issue in our partnership. On our end, we were responding. On the mods ends, they felt like it wasn't enough. I at least did not realize the mods felt

The staff would use creator chat if they wanted us to respond.

The whole points of mods is so that we don't have to read every message in the discord.

We were caught off guard. We were not expecting it.

We read creator-chat, not staff-chat.

A message from a mod and user who created a Voidpets bot for the server:

Hey, we need to talk, as inteligent people.
I know developing a game can be hard, but it's still something that needs to be said.
I understand that bringing updates, staying engaged with projects and constantly monitoring your community is tough but what you must never do is to completely abandon them without any word. All of this what you've been doing for the past 2 years honestly feels like a complete scam and ripoff from the perspective of pretty much everyone else, people donated you money in terms of giga and are still continuing to do so but everything they hear in return is silence and then "I won't do anything else unless I'm done writing a book". Not even mentioning the funding you've received.
As someone who spent a lot of time in the past working with the community and up to this point continuing to do so, even though, admittedly, at a much less engaged pace; 1 feel exactly the same thing. I do not want to threaten or anything like this but at this point I see no reason to continue supporting the project and I'll be giving you guys a week to figure out what you're going to do, after that I'm abandoning the Curious bot and stepping down from helping the community entirely. Sorry but I have to at this point.
