Lovely heartwarming story. 💚
Six weeks ago, I picked up a year-old tawny owl with a broken leg off the main road near our home and dropped him off at our nearest vet.

After a few days, I received one of the most bizarre phone calls I’ve ever had, asking “So when are you coming to pick up your owl?” 🧵

Also loved @rspb.bsky.social Ynys-hir and the @natreswales.bsky.social Dyfi National Nature Reserve.
Lovely weekend in Wales. Fantastic visits to Radnorshire Wildlife Trust sites: Gilfach and Tylcau Hill.
River Wye yesterday. The clean bit at the top, before all the chicken crap gets added.
Great project around Stroud. I am lucky enough to have Dippers on my doorstep, so I am enjoying surveying my local stretch of the River Frome.

An errand took me to the coast today, so I drifted home via Holkham. 40 Russian whitefronts were in the very field where I once wrote about them.

They reminded me of @ajaytegala.bsky.social (who gave me this lovely Peter Scott plate at the end of an interview) and of goose adventures past.
Fascinating! Do I see movements between Slimbridge/Frampton and Llangorse?
Green-winged Teal on the Tack Piece a highlight of a very damp and blustery day at #Slimbridge.
Finally escaping from the other place.
