I went to a political protest for the first time ever today. I did it for my grandkids who have skin color that falls on the darker side of the color spectrum. I have been afraid for them.
I was encouraged to see for myself the extraordinary number of people who were there. I shed tears of relief.

I’ve been trying to convince friends and family that the time of remaining “non-political” and putting their hopes on unicorns and rainbows flew out the window a looooooong time ago. Get out there and resist! So far, it ain’t working. I don’t get it.

Naturalized citizen here. Yes - a United States of America citizen. I used to travel but once I reached the point of wondering if I should carry my proof of naturalization (and then worrying that “they” may accuse me of forging it) in addition to my passport and driver’s license…
