SEPTA Metro Wayfinding is a priority. The existing signage system creates significant navigation challenges for riders across all stations, hindering accessibility and contributing to passenger confusion, missed connections, and reduced system efficiency.

While skeptics argue that SEPTA's wayfinding system doesn't need improvements, riders tell a different story.

We can't wait for every station to feature SEPTA Metro wayfinding.

In the meantime, can you tell which station this is?

Northeast Philadelphia's population density and development patterns make it an ideal candidate for heavy rail subway expansion, with residential neighborhoods concentrated along major corridors that could efficiently support high-capacity transit infrastructure.

High Speed Line was used interchangeably for decades in Southeastern Pennsylvania. It was always meant to be a Regional Rail line.

The Airport Line opened in 1985, just one year after the Center City Commuter Connection tunnel—this marked SEPTA's last system expansion—nearly 40 years ago.

The mezzanine level of Adams Station, located beneath the Sears parking lot, served as storage space for the adjacent Sears regional headquarters. Both structures were demolished in 1994.

Comparing station concepts: PennDOT's has park users walking through an indoor hybrid station. Ours has them walking around a station house.

The real design gets hammered out in preliminary engineering and design, but we're clearly on the same page here.

This is valuable information, SEPTA doesn't really have many escalators on the Metro System so maybe removing these could be for the best.

Should the Roosevelt Boulevard Subway include escalators? The latest phase of Honolulu's rail system (the Skyline) offers an alternative model: instead of escalators, stations feature only stairs and two elevators rather than the standard single elevator.

Just imagine the day these go up in the Boulevard's median. Luckily, Roosevelt Blvd is so wide that local businesses will see minimal disturbances.

Those Walkable Station Areas in the Northeast offer Billions of dollars' worth of economic growth; it's just a matter of how much. Hopefully, PennDOT will be able to answer these questions.

As the Bellwether District continues to expand, Philadelphia needs to prioritize public transit connections to this emerging job center.

The Broad Street Subway contains an unused junction that could potentially serve as the foundation for a future rail link to the district.

The Neighborhood Boulevard with the subway numbers tells the story:

- 47.6 million fewer vehicle miles traveled annually - that's 1.9 million gallons of gas that stay in the ground

- 18,659 tons of CO2 kept out of our air.

- $6.7 million in fuel costs saved

The Market Street Subway and Subway Surface Trolley tunnels were constructed in a single, continuous phase rather than being built incrementally.

Across the US, transit agencies are staring down huge 'fiscal cliffs.' The popular explanation is Covid and inflation.

But experts say there are other, longer-term forces in play, from declining gas tax revenues to 'Baumol's cost disease.'

The Wave of Transit ‘Fiscal Cliffs,’ Explained
Covid and inflation played a role. But for many agencies, the crisis goes much deeper.

They were right about the Center City Commuter Connection, and it will be right for the Roosevelt Boulevard Subway as well. Let's create tens of thousands of jobs in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

In the mid-1960s, Philadelphia adopted a confident vision for the future following the success of the 1964 ballot initiatives.

Voters approved funding for Veterans Stadium, the South Broad Street Subway extension, and the ambitious Roosevelt Boulevard Subway project.
