Games can be really different too. In the US you had to use Nintendos mapper chips, but Japan has lots of 3rd party ones, often allowing for more storage and of course expansion audio is nice too.
Snagged some famicom carts! Got Flying Hero based off the @gamesack.net review.
That’s commitment. Proud of you
I just sweat pure excellence
Worth… every… penny
Some people don’t like it when you do things differently than they do. They feel attacked I guess.
My posts on Twitter usually get 5x the engagement, but 2000x the dickheads trashing me and my hobbies.
Now you’re getting it!
And stop working on Sunday. Its THE LORD’S DAY you maniac
Sometimes when you spill Dr Pepper on your 64 the reset starts to stick. I’ve seen that damage a few times….
All my sneakers have little solder splashes permanently stuck within their fibers. That’s how you know I’m legit.
Level based games like that are great for a quick fix. Also, you can not play for a year and wont be confused as hell about what you were doing when you finally come back
Agreed. Modern gaming seems to expect you to play for 4 hour sessions and commit months of game time. I just don’t have that kinda time, or the desire to commit. I like jumping around various games because my ADHD tells me to. Except of course for Chrono. I could play it all day every day.
I’ve gotten to a point in my life where I think it’s safe to say: I’ll never stop loving the Super Nintendo. It’s 35 years old and it’s still my go-to for a quick gaming fix. I have several hooked up around the house… and my analogue pocket is pure SNES on-the-go.

Good evening gentlemen. I rather he finds out about this at home, where it’s safe.
For the most part I’m off the HDMI mods. Those FPGAs ain’t cheap and the Tink4K really does a tremendous job. Admittedly it costs money too as do HDRV cables, but at the end of the day I’m also not spending all the time modding every console.
Just ordered the red one 😀
If you've heard about my #OpenSFC project over on Twitter, you can also get news on bsky now.

It's a reproduction of the SHVC #SuperFamicom, but you can also build a #SNES too.

Several units have been built successfully; I am finalizing testing and will soon release it as #OSHW 😄
