Right, the kids would bring ideas from Earth into Narnia, though I think Trumpkin being interested in the coin flip is more that he hasn't seen any gold coins before

And of course the Black Dwarfs (dwarfs with black hair mind) are the ones that are closer to evil than the other ones. Nikabrik couldn't more obviously be a traitor if it was spelled out in bold letters

I've read so much Redwall that everytime I see the word vittles spelled "victuals" I have to stop myself from reading it incorrectly (its still pronounced "vittles." For some reason)

So they find the ruins of Cair Paravel, all confused as to how things ended up this way in only one year. You'd think they'd remember by now that they spent a long time in Narnia and yet no time passed in the real world when they returned

So we get a quick summary of their previous adventures, what they're up to at that very moment (going off to boarding school at the end of the holidays) and then very suddenly they get pulled into Narnia

I've seen the movie, but I don't remember ever reading the book, and I haven't seen the movie since I was a kid so... this will be quite the experience

Watching the first movie has reinvigorated by desire to experience this series again so I only have one thing to say about Prince Caspian:

Hmm. Ah well. At least I'm done. I'm probably not reading the other Deptford Mice books.

I dunno! I dunno. Nothing here feels as fleshed out as it could be and it kind of just ended immediately after the main villain died, so we don't get to see any real resolution. I'm left largely unsatisfied and disappointed when I wasn't even expecting anything.

is possibly the actually most active character in the book just from the fact that he's trying to make up for the fact that Arthur died to save him and Audrey hates him. And Akkikyu makes a heel turn for legit NO REASON at the end and that ALSO doesn't amount to anything.
