neck feathers flared = angry
Subdued

Pretty stripes and feathers make a good decoration

I actually lied theres a sketch i did last night of her decapitated but much more detailed and exposed than the little sketch i did in the corner of that one pic, might post
Art of my Amygdala OC Agrata so far. Last image is her as a little baby fowler. She starts off about the size of a small pig. Her short body and long legs means she has to hop like a rabbit to get around

they have about the same flexibility as a domestic cat at the size of a horse. irl large felines such as lions cant do those kinds of contortions they can do.
Dont even worry about a spine man whatever is comfortable for you.

a fun thing to do would be to draw some kivvas based on their book description alone i think #samfennah #amygdala
the way shes guarding him with her wings is like when a bird of prey is guarding its food
i could read a book just about celia tbh. her and the other misfit kivvas are a lot more interesting than seeing the government leaders argue about shit lol
the chapter of celia running and playing with little felicity when they find her is such a good scene and shows that celia's entire personality isnt just being paranoid and being good at murdering people, she likes to have fun and shes caring. especially for a kivva living under a darwinist culture
it just gets a bit repetitive how these characters are described based on their gender when the males usually have a lot less flowery and sensual language and are kinda just animals. anyways one good thing is i love celia and shes one of the best written characters in the book so far imo
and i dont even think making the females look feminine and curvy is a bad thing. i actually think its good to add feminine characteristics on creatures/monsters because those traits should be seen just as neutral as "male"/androgynous traits
to the human audience reading it. which in concept isnt a bad thing but it kind of feels like a James Cameron situation the way we're always talking about the female's heavy thighs and pubic hair and big stomach and boobs when those anthro traits arent even relevant to their repro. system lmao
so im about 270 pages into Amygdala and im a little conflicted now. im all for weird horny xeno/alien fantasy but good lord man. the way the fem characters are described extremely sensually compared to the males when gender in their society feels more like something added to make them more familiar-
Amgydala/Satellite City is such a fun IP its got hardcore stuff like decapitation sex built into it but within the context of the Kivouach its just an entirely normal and casual occurance
a change i made to this acc recently is turning on the setting that prompts you to write alt text before posting an image

i feel like its not only good for accessibility but also depending on the quality of the description it gives people context to your art who arent super familiar with your acc
one significant change i made to this piece was spacing out the tail and wings cause it was kind of hard to tell where her tail hair/feathers were vs the black feathers on her wing so i had to separate them, drawing fantasy anatomy means i have to make things easily readable

ohh are we finally yelling at Mel
it was the vagueness and lack of effort in the terms to explain the rule that really did it in for me. at least really censored art websites like artfight have a decent guideline for what they consider to be explicit but cara just has 1 blanket statement "no NSFW" which feels lazy
i remember i was excited when Cara was announced as this all new website made for artists to express themselves without the environment of twitter/tumblr and then i saw they dont allow NSFW with like 0 clarification on what counts as NSFW vs artistic nudes and i abandoned that site so fast
since you lose all your clothes and im assuming any "worldly"/physical possessions in the rapture does that mean my iud would fall out too or what
