AFTER Columbus, other explorers were guilty of spreading smallpox. There’s no direct historical or epidemiological evidence that smallpox was present on Columbus’s voyages (1492–1504) or that his crews introduced it to the Americas.

The politicians out there today have evolved over time. Today, a few fancy words, a little botox, and a pea brain seems to be all that's needed to get elected. People are fickle and politicians will bend whichever way the wind blows, regardless of virtues.

Umpires are just shithouse judges, anyway. Like them, there's a bad apple sometimes. Most of the time, I didn't care who won, I just wanted a fair competition.

As an ex-umpire: Tech has slowed the game down a lot. It used to be that the umpire made a call (hopefully, he was honest), it stood, the game went on. Now, they stop the game, look at cameras, talk about it, overturn the call or not, THEN we get back to the game at hand. How important is accuracy?
