I was considering replacing my 13yr old car with a new electric car. I don't really want a new car but was motivated by contributing less to GW.
Came across concept of carbon debt for an EV, since I only drive 2.5K a year I judged it better to keep my old car.

In the 1980s we had a glimmer of rationality with maintenance prescription of heroin in ground breaking services.
Government clamped down & banned it with renewed war on drugs rhetoric. John Marks who was a pioneer in the field for the UK left the country in disgust.
