Sarrachi was my motm by a mile, direct, pacy and built of the finest marble (whereas KT seems to be a fan of passing inside, running like his legs are held on with masking tape and is built of wet tesco value loo roll).

Tounekti looked more confident with his wingman too
Thing is, if he had even an ounce of flexibility in his tactical style then we would have been able to deal with the injuries and lack of form in the squad. Tonight is the absolute proof of that, look at the players you can use and build your tactics around them!

Rodgers just couldn't do that
But he was, I'd say, just about as much of a hindrance as they were
😂

Post match after turgid 0-0 draw:
"I thought we played well but just lacked that bit of finesse in attacking zones, overall I'm happy with our efforts and with a bit of luck we could have scored 3 or 4"

Match stats:
Possession: 89%
Passes: 12,000 (between calmac and defence)
Shots: 3
On target:1
...dialled up to 11.

He was found out big time, he had no 'plan b' for when things weren't going well. He used the support massively in his battle with the board (you know, the guys who brought him back and suddenly realised he was a busted flush). Not for a second saying the board are innocent..
That was his problem though. When he 1st came here, it was at a time when we had no competition, he was given the biggest budget since the MoN days and had the 'nearly won the league with liverpool' medal shining brightly.

This time round, he just didn't have that on his side and his ego was...
He was still living on being the nearly man of English football from day 1 of his 2nd shot with us. Thing is, that reputation had been completely worn away with how things went towards the end at Leicester.

I think he came back here thinking his aura from 1st time would be enough to see him thru
These guys will be allowed (to an extent) to play their own game and not feel weighed down by what now looks like pure fear and dulling of their talents that had been drummed into them
To go from feeling apprehensive to fired up in 2 days is an incredible turnaround.

But by god, celtic can do that to us!
Direct without resorting to playing % balls from back to front, we looked like a team freed of the responsibility to play an out of date style of football
Its been a chore for close to 12 months, tonight was a complete reversal of that.

The shackles have been released and we, hopefully, will see a far more entertaining product that leaves us longing for the next game
Fuckin hell, thats a horrible stat! Yet its absolutely believable considering what we have seen over the last 12 months.

I think Rodgers has lost it (it being the ability to properly manage a big football club) and will probably float around the continent managing middle of the road clubs
If Rodgers was still in charge then I genuinely believe tonight's game would have been a complete slog where we would probably be hitting the last 15 mins of the game goalless.

It was so refreshing to see more forward passes and early crosses into the box, we have been crying out for that for ages
Thing is, we know that there are deficiencies in the squad overall and that we need to strengthen in a few positions, but tonight showed that the right tactics, mindset and flexibility can make all the difference.

It was like watching a game from a completely different season
Think i could have worded it better, confirm was probably more accurate
Calmac looked more like the player we all know he can be. The way he and engels rotated to free up passing ops or allow one and other to get further up the park was excellent.

Granted it was Falkirk, but overall just seemed like a more fluid team out there
So, does tonight show that Rodgers was stifling the creativity and freedom in certain members in the squad?

To me it looked like a team finally getting to play the sort of football they wanted to rather than being coerced into something else.

Early days, but I think the signs are promising

CELTIC REACTION

Martin O’Neill: “It was a special feeling”

Callum McGregor: “Great to get back to winning ways”

Dermot Desmond: “He always left the toilet seat up, he never got his round in, he didn’t compliment my moustache…”
Apologies, spurs losing. Still 10 or so mins to go
Just seen the Liverpool score, ooft

Thats a pumping

Spurs lost, just a pity it was Newcastle that beat them
Might no be able to hit the heady heights of jumping a good 6-7 feet off the deck, but he's still got that spring in his step.

Fukin love that man
The Greatest 🍀❤️
Maeda is sprouting some head of hair these days, madness
True, but its still like comparing shite and sugar...
This. This is how we want our celtic to play!

No fucking about with 1000 passes between calmac, scales and AN Other defender. Ball down, played forward, movement off the ball and goals.
