Interesting paper on inner workings of Semantic Scholar updated to May 2025 arxiv.org/abs/2301.10140 . Main thing i was curious is does the default SS ranker use vector embeddings at all. They have SPECTER2 embeddings surely it is used? But a relatively old medium post says no. (1)

The NTP has confirmed Ontario's first recorded EF2 tornado of the year. It occurred in NW ON on July 27. High-resolution satellite images were used to identify and assess the damage path through the forest.
