At the EPC Congress this year, Chi Obwura's keynote went seamlessly from 'technology can cause harm as well as good, social media is very worrying' to 'here are the 10 things were doing to accelerate AI adoption'. Not one of those 10 was governance or ethics.

Fraudulent design registrations sold for the purpose of academic reputation manipulation. They are titled "AI based humanoid for visitor identification" (a cartoonish blue robot with arms), "artificial intelligence empowered solar vehicle" (a boxy gray car with solar panels), "smart shoe for visually impaired" (a beige shoe with cameras surrounding the sole) and "designing an artificial intelligence powered skin cancer inspection device with design thinking" (a colorful glock pistol with a screen attached).
