Here's a few things to know about me: I've been to 17 countries, 33 states, the District of Columbia, and several U.S. territories. I post one new adventure every day - old ones can be found on my timeline. Please REPOST and LIKE to help others find me. No photoshop here - all pictures are real!
Washington Monument in D.C. from my visit in April. Figured I better visit again before Trump has it knocked down. I mean, anything is possible...
I can see how it could be considered disgusting. I look at it more as a fascinating and disturbing part of world history.
Here's another spooky adventure for you during this Halloween season: I took a tour of the catacombs underneath the city of Paris, France. Yes, these are real human bones and skulls. Google the place if you are not familiar - it's fascinating! I visited in 2023.
Jesse James was an American outlaw, bank and train robber who was gunned down in his home in St. Joseph, Missouri in April of 1882. His body was relocated to the cemetery here in Kearney, MO after laying at his family's farm nearby until 1902.
Another dose of the macabre for you on this October Friday night. This bust is of Edgar Allan Poe at his museum in Richmond, Virginia.
Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia from my visit in 2010.
It’s a very cool museum! The buildings are as interesting as the cars they display.
Got to hang out in the back of a giant 70's station wagon last summer at the Gilmore Car Museum in Michigan. This place is so cool! It exhibits over 400 vintage and collector vehicles in several vintage buildings and period specific replica car dealerships located on a 90-acre campus.
Thanks for the tip! I will add it to my travel list.
Fair enough! I live in corn field country too and it holds a special place in my heart. I just like to tease Ohio occasionally!
This is the Lewis and Clark Trailhead Plaza in Jefferson City, Missouri. The city’s namesake, Thomas Jefferson, instigated the expedition, and the explorers were likely the first citizens to cite and map the land that became Jefferson City. I visited in August.
This beautiful waterfall is in the Hocking Hills State Park in southern Ohio where I visited in 2023. If all you know of Ohio is the northern part, you would be shocked to see how pretty it is near the southern border! That's my take as a stuffed cow from Michigan.
Interesting colored rocks in Death Valley National Park from my visit last June. It was much more blue in person!
Here's another Halloween themed photo! This is from the Indianapolis Zoo last weekend. It's a Day of the Dead Rhino. I'm pretty small up there on its back!
Here's another "spooky" adventure to celebrate the month of October. This is from Graceland Cemetery in Chicago. This 10 foot tall sculpture is called Eternal Silence and was created in 1909. Legend says that if a person looks into its eyes, they will see their own death. I'll pass!
This past summer I had a good fright while visiting the Toledo Zoo in Ohio. I was just minding my own business, getting my picture taken when this huge, beastly, bulging creature creeped up behind me! I was so startled I nearly lost my lunch!
