Showed pretty well in the rain this afternoon Mike for around 20 min before it was spooked by a Blackbird and was lost to view
Dipped the Eye browed Thrush first thing this morning, then went on a Pelagic Great Shearwater c2000,Sooty Shearwater c200, Bonxie 8, then back on St Mary's and connected with the Eye browed Thrush my 5th on Scilly

St Mary's again today,windy with showers,pretty much same species as yesterday, weather same tomorrow,but will go off St Mary's and have a bash around Tresco
Great book Steve,I often pick it up and have a look during migration times,for a bit of motivation, and boy you need some Birding in Wales
Started the day on St Mary's, then back over to St Agnes 10.15 -15.00,then back birding St Mary's up to Porthellick photo,Highlights Caspian Gull (Scilly tick),American Pipit,R Ouzel,Woodcock,Firecrest,seems as if the Mourning Dove may have fell foul to a predator
St Warna's Cove, St Agnes the Spotted Sandpiper was here this afternoon, No sign of the Mourning Dove, light rain most of the afternoon will give it another go tomorrow
As you say it's a big learning curve,and we are all still riding it
Slight but noticable upturned bill another pro Bar tailed feature
It's a Bar tailed Godwit more identification features would be shown on a side view,but this bird has an obvious supercilium (eyebrow),which is a give away feature
WWT today heard what was very probably a Yellow browed Warbler call twice at distance on walk to Steel Hide Barwit 1,Blackwit c500,Knot 18,Ruff 3,Redshank 163,Dunlin 5,Curlew Sand 4,Green Sand 3,Lapwing 38,Greenshank 22,Spotshank 1,Snipe 2,Wigeon 71 and 6 Brambling flew over while looking for YBW
