Lingonberries, bilberries and stone brambles, picked in an arctic forest in Målselv. Will make jam and serve on fresh crispy waffles. Lingonberries are super good whipped with sugar and egg white to an airy mousse (trollkrem)
NSB Type 73 at Trondheim Central station, bound for Oslo in rainbow/pride livery. Operated by SJ Nord. A wordplay in Norwegian is lost in translation, as the word for "train" and "parade " is the same in Norwegian.
I’m loving all the online talk today about this powerful but now lost electric locomotive. Electric traction for the win. www.railpictures.net/photo/689256/
Museum train NSB type Di 3 at Eidsvoll station and Lillestrøm station. These locos were in ordinary traffic until the noughties, luckily this one is preserved by the Norwegian Railroad Museum in Hamar, so I have a lovely nostalgic traveling experience today!
Bull-Hansen? Leste fantasy-serien hans om Horngudens tale for lenge siden.
Another one: moroklump (Ball of fun). And in Northern Norwegian dialect: Tullsjur (Silly magpie, about females. The male equivalent to tullsjur is a bit more rude so I won't mention it here)
Every Tuesday is quite literally a smörgåsbord-day at my work! I chose the classic smørrebrød the Danish call "stjerneskud" (shooting star) with fried plaice fillet and prawns.
Another excellent lunch from the cafeteria at my work, today it was fresh fish: Ling fillet, served with mashed potatoes and celeriac, and sauce hollandaise.
Minus 14 degrees and frost mist over the Andselv river at Bardufoss. It's midday, but the sun haven't emerged yet from the long arctic night, still just below the horizon. #Bardufoss#Norway
Abandoned trains and wagons at Eina station, on the Gjøvik line. It was the southern terminus of the Valdres line, shut down in 1989. The abandoned equipment looks like it's from that era.
